Role: Senior Instructional Designer & Lead Developer
The Challenge: Physical access to specialized sports science equipment, like heat chambers and metabolic carts, is limited for many college students globally. We needed to create a "digital twin" of a high-stakes laboratory environment that provided the same pedagogical value as a live experiment.
The Solution: I designed and developed a comprehensive virtual lab featuring an immersive 360° tour of the GSSI heat chamber. The experience guides students through a full research protocol—from baseline phlebotomy and urine concentration testing to post-exercise data analysis. I integrated interactive features like digital refractometer calibration, body mass loss calculators, and a data-driven "comparison trial".
The Result: Launched globally to universities, receiving exceptional feedback for its realism and immersive qualities. It successfully bridged the gap between theory and practice, allowing students to earn a certificate of completion after accurately interpreting complex physiological data sets.
